The first of three tour games is done and dusted against a WACA chairman's XI the Poms looked distinctly dusty. Realistically they have two spots up for grabs, number 6 and the third seamers spot. Both guys in contention for the batting spot: Balance and Stokes failed while all three of the quicks: Finn, Rankin and Tremlett were decidedly average, will be interesting to see how this strategy of tall quicks goes, ridiculous that Onions didn't make the touring party.
What is basically a WA seconds lineup with M. Marsh and Chris Lynn included managed to rack up 5/450 declared thanks to a Lynn century before the Poms were all out for 391, the dangerous Bell and Trott getting their tours started with centuries.
England will head down to Tasmania for a game against Australia A starting Wednesday:
Aus A- Moises Henriques (Captain) NSW
Glenn Maxwell (Vice-Captain) VIC
Trent Copeland NSW
Ben Cutting QLD
Alex Doolan TAS
Callum Ferguson SA
Jon Holland VIC
Usman Khawaja QLD
Michael Klinger SA
Shaun Marsh WA
Tim Paine TAS
Before play a NSW invitation 11, team still to be announced but rumoured to feature guys in contention like Hughes, Cowan, Khawaja etc
