    Kerry O'Keeffe

Kerry O'Keeffe has announced that he will retire from his cricket commentary on the ABC at the end of the Sydney test.

It took me a while to adjust to his quirky nature but I have regarded him highly for a while now and I'll certainly miss him.

Anyone else a fan of the Skull?

Love Kerry, will really miss him. Besides his humour, he does know his cricket.

He is a larrikin who actually knows what he is on about. I wonder if he will continue with the supporter tours?

As good or as bad as some of the jokes, it's his infectious laugh that just tops it off so well.

I might have to rename the Merv Hughes board in honor of Kerry

Then dropping Merv off the forum name for a non member would be sacrilege!

Kerry is must listen radio. one of the few who stops me switching stations when the cricket is disinteresting/peeing me off!

He will be sorely missed with his thoughtful analyses and quirky humour. Radio will be so much more bland without him.

                  Re: Kerry O'Keeffe

The sense of humour often makes people forget that his knowledge of the game and insight when calling is exceptional.

It must be a leg-spinner thing, they all seem to know the game and get commentary gigs when they retire.

Can remember a few years ago when the 'Saffers were touring, and he referred to Andre Nel as 'Bowling more like Auntie Nel'. Andre obliged and triggered a middle order collapse. Gotta love the commentators curse.

I'm a little annoyed at this. He is supposed to give a months notice (20 work days) and with all the tests being 4 days I think he has robbed us.

We should speak to the ABC and tell them that he needs to double up on his commentary in the Sydney test.

In all seriousness, I'm going to miss his commentary. The ABC will need to get someone like Darren Berry.
