    Cameron White

Cameron White has long been a player that hasn't lived up to his potential or hype.

The summer though he is the 2nd leading run scorer in the Sheffield Shield and also seems to be bowling better. He's always been a good fielder and has safe hands.

Is there any chance he could force his way back into the Australian Test side?

Didn't he say something Cricket Australia didn't like, regarding the 20-20 league cross town rivalry two or so years ago?
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

      Not that I'm aware.

Given Bailey has been a disappointment I thought While might offer something at the number 6 spot and provide a few overs of bowling. It's probably a long shot.

I'm open to any suggestions. Bailey is a terrific short form player, but even the optimists would call his selection a fail.

I can see why we selected Bailey because he is a very good captain at the state level and the injury concerns with Clarke leave us somewhat exposed for leaders.
That being said, Bailey has shown the gap between limited over and test cricket is a big one.

White has made runs and taken a few wickets with his part time leggies. I just wonder if there is any merit in giving him the South African series to see if he has a bit more to offer.

If we are picking the best player available he doesn't deserve it more than Voges or North who offer just as much with the ball and in the field. Nor is White an entirely different batsman to Watson

He is 2nd of the SS runs list at the moment so it's not like there is no decent form behind him.
I like the idea of Doolan and Burns being around the mix but thought White was worth a discussion.

No doubt the form is there, had an excellent finish to last year as well, my query is that if we are selecting the best side available, without age as a query, there are probably a few options ahead of him. Marcus North for example is having the kind of year Katich had to force himself back in.

In saying that I would prefer someone younger, a guy like Doolan has runs in the bank over a longer period than White and if successful would be around for a few more years...not to mention he's a treat to watch with the blade

Great comparison with Katich. Simon should still be in the test team IMO.

                    In front of Warner?

He would be a natural for the number 3 spot.

Well that spot surely is up for grabs? Again someones personality not fitting in with the majority of the group.

I think Katich only has an issue with Clarke. I think the majority of players would welcome him back if his shield cricket figures measured up.

To be fair to Katich, someone needed to grab Clarke around the throat and get his focus back to the team room.

In my opinion Katich did no wrong.
