Nick Kyrgios is in new grand slam territory, having earned his place in the Wimbledon third round in extraordinary circumstances. It was easily the biggest career win for the Australian teenager, although there was nothing easy about it, Kyrgios forced to recover from a two-set deficit against 13th seed Richard Gasquet and to save nine match points.

He announced himself earlier this year at the Australian open and last years French open.

He appears big and strong enough both physically and mentally to compete with the best. Along with Kokkinakis mens tennis may be back on the way up.

Great win for the young man. Definitely have high hopes.

Saw him playing in the Juniors a few years ago abd really liked the look of him.

What a terrific performance. The kid obviously thrives under the pressue. Saved around 10 match points in the 5th set. It wasn't Gasquet choking either it was just positive tennis.

Well done to the young lad. What a performance to beat Nadal.

Next Raonic in the Qtrs - if he gets through that it is either the Fed or Stan the man.
