Powerhouse clubs coming to Melbourne for International Champions Cup

An international tournament featuring famous clubs such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, and possible Barcelona and Chelsea, will be played at the MCG next year under an agreement set to be struck by Nine Entertainment Co.
The Australian Financial Review is reporting that a deal is imminent to play three matches of the off-season International Champions Cup at the MCG next July.
This year’s ICC tournament was played in July and August in the United States, with English Premier League club Manchester United beating Liverpool in the final in Miami.
Other teams that took part included Inter Milan and AC Milan from Italy, Real Madrid and Greek side Olympiakos.
The 2015 tournament is set to expand with a presence in Asia, with matches being played in Beijing alongside those in Melbourne.

I see the AFL aren't happy about giving up the MCG for a weekend.

Well they have been told not schedule anything there.

Would be a great coup for Melbourne to have all those famous clubs playing.

The AfL get what they deserve to be honest.
Non games a weekend in Melbourne, and treating the punters disrespectfully.
