Yep, one of the greatest achievements ever by an Australian Football side in any code.

Victory just on a roll this season.

Just shy of 24,000 last night.

Very good performance, considering the players missing.

Have to be impressed with how the Victory are run, great crowds, huge corporate support and the second biggest coterie group in the country.

Very good performance all things considering.
Playing young players in the ACL last season has helped.
Thought mark Milligan was just superb ( great leader) as was Gui Finkler.
Staggered by Merrick's defensive attitude, with all those players out.
          He clearly wanted a point

They've played it at Etihad previously on cup eve and got poor crowds.
24 is about 5 more than I thought.
The league is buzzing at the moment.

What a finish to the CC v City game. What a cracking goal.

City give up a lead again. Heart breaking for their fans.

                    Shouldn't that be fan?
Sorry couldn't resist . Should have put the game beyond doubt to be honest.
Melbourne victory threw away three points as well. Bossed that first half, but didn't put their chances .
Game could have ended with about 10 goals

Crowd numbers are the least of their problems atm, not that they reliant on stadium revenue anyway money is the least of their problems.

Van't Schipp might be under a fair bit of pressure if he doesn't stop given up leads.

Disagree chef. Not sure the Middle Eastern money pit is going to be happy if numbers drop considerably.

IMO the City Consortium is here (as with NYC and ManC) for the long term and making money isn't a goal atm, hes happy to wear £100m losses every year in England.

Once they get the side winning consistently (and they will) the crowd numbers will rise so its really not a concern atm.

You do realise that there is a salary cap in the A-League.
As we've just witnessed just bringing in a big name doesn't mean on field success, and in fact it probably hurts then as far as on field success goes. Results will bring fans in not 4 game gimmicks.
Little bit presumptuous to assume just because they throw money into everything it's going to be successful.

Yeah Remy I know about about the salary cap (works out close to one months wages for Yaya or Kun). They are not here for the money, its the A-League.

I agree about the big name, they've played much better now Villas gone. They should be signing more Duff type players.

And who said anything about just throwing money at the club?

IMO They are going to take their time and do things properly from the ground up and the results should take care of themselves. Plus it's going to be interesting how they use MC and NYC and as means to get around FFP for the mother club.

Guess the point I'm making is that's all well and good bringing a big name here, but four games is just detrimental for their group.
Duff's been great, but they need to build a squad that buys in and not look at just throwing names here for a short period of time.
