I started a thread on our best test wins so this is a follow from that about our best ODI wins in the history.

Re: Our Best ODI Win
This was before my time but on youtube a while back I watched the 83/84 ODI series against West Indies - the final which we didn't win but was very exciting none the less.Last edited by Eastdog; 14-11-2014, 10:16 PM."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. Re: Our Best ODI Win
Against the Windies '95 SCG, when Bevan hit a straight drive for 4 off the last ball. Never forget it, my interest in cricket was peaking and Bevo (topical today) was my favourite player. Low scoring game but so much tension.Comment

Re: Our Best ODI Win
The first World Cup we won in '87 in India. It had been pretty demoralising being an Australian cricket fan for a few years leading up to that with regular humiliations at the hands of the West Indies, the poms and even NZ thumping us on regular occasions. Ivan remember holding on for a draw in a Test match against NZ and celebrating like we had won it.
Things were pretty dreary there for a while and the day we won the final I think is the happiest I've felt about an ODI.They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

Re: Our Best ODI Win
Remember the Windies were filthy ( they were leading one nil in a three game series)
That they had to come back the next day . Needless to say a fired up West Indies back then meant severe pain for their opponent, and they flogged us.Comment

I haven't been to a 50 over game since 89/90, as after the 20th Mexican wave realised the crowd wasn't there for the cricket.Comment

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Yep the dark Chappell/Hughes farce was over and we were starting to gel under Border. It was after World cup that the real quality players started to trickle through and get added to the team. Mark Taylor, Ian Healy, Glen MacGrath, Shane Warne, Justin Langer, Mark Waugh, Matthew Hayden and later Mike Hussey, Adam Gilchrist and Brett Lee made us almost unbeatable. Only a few players from the World Cup win got to go on that ride though. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment
