Who do we look at as long term replacement at second slip (and first slip when Watson bowls)?

Smith officially named new Vice Captain, and will take over as Captain while Clarke is injured. Haddin removed as Vice Captain and re-appointed as temporary Vice Captain while Clarke is out injured.

Hopefully going to day 2 @ the Gabba this thursday, does anyone know how much GA is at the gate or would they be the same prices online ($40 the minimum)?
1 David Warner, 2 Chris Rogers, 3 Shane Watson, 4 Steven Smith (capt), 5 Shaun Marsh, 6 Mitchell Marsh, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Mitchell Johnson, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Josh Hazlewood
Love seeing young fast bowlers, looking forward to it. Anyone know where Pattinson is at?

Smith moving up to 4 is interesting. Does Marsh have much experience batting 5? I'm still not completely sure about his inclusion.. But in saying that noone else stands out to be picked ahead of him to bat 5.

Like the bowling inclusions.
I'm hoping S Marsh can improve on his recent Test form of 6 ducks in his previous 11 innings.

Pattinson has been batting all season for Dandenong but just started bowling the last 2 weeks (4 overs each in 20/20 matches). I'm fairly sure I read that he was hoping to be available for the Ashes tour. Hopefully he will return to shield cricket after the big bash.

He has been batting at 5 this season for WA. Hopefully he can make the most of his recall because for mine the remainder of this series has to be his last chance.
I like the Hazelwood selection, I may have a little flutter on him for most wickets. He offers the penetration and extra bounce that Pattinson worried them with a few years ago. I'm not a big a rap of Starc as some and think that someone like a Chad Sayers would have loved the conditions but the two left armers ripping up the pitch will give Lyon some assistance.
Surely the Indian selectors must stop being too clever and play Ashwin? Strengthens the tail and his fairly classical dropping off spinners should trouble the left handers Warner, Rogers and Marsh. He would have done well in Adelaide
It's a brave move to give it to Smith. If it works out he could well captain the side for the next 10 years and be the backbone of team, I just hope the extra responsibility doesn't impact on the upward trajectory of his performances. Haddin shouldn't be in the team let alone captain, and Warner is probably the only other candidate but is too much of a boofhead to be considered, vso at least we're looking towards the future with a difficult decision.
He's like the Warnie of his generation.
Warnerie:
Boofhead, otherwise...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
Warne was a very smart cricketer though, well at least in the field (he was a boofhead when batting). Warner isn't really a smart cricketer, just an extremely talented one.

Warnie never struck me as 'simple' though. Warner is more Healy than Warne, a good bloke around the team, well respected and a competitor but lacks that bit of polish and smarts to be the statesman a captain is required to be. He'll be a good option for vice when Haddin goes in the same way that Healy was for Tugga
I'm not massive on the Starc selection , as I think you have to many paceman who leak runs.
Happy with the Smith selection as Haddin is just about run his race .
