    Re: ODI Tri-series

I think the team balance and batting order of the ODI side is as good as I've seen it for some time. Clean sweep of the series. It is a frighteningly good batting order with Johnson at 9 and Starc at 10 (who can both bat).

Don't agree that Faulkner should necessarily bat higher than Haddin - perhaps when the game situation warrants it though.
Haddin can still go hard when required, and dependant on the situation - the order can float (ie. if we are only 2 or 3 down with 5-6 overs left then Faulkner or Maxwell could be elevated where required). They floated the order in Hobart and it worked well (where we wouldn't have gotten over the line without Haddin's 42 off 29 btw).

Maxwell's bowling has been good enough to suggest that he can regular get 10 overs in - and obviously be dangerous in the batting order. He will have some shocking dismissals....but he may also contribute some ultra-quick scoring at times that changes the momentum of a game. Either way - I think we have enough overall strength to cope when any of the bats don't fire.

Bailey is the one that needs to be scrutinised. He has performed badly in his last 5 or 6 games and should be dropped.

I think there is a difference between where Faulkner should bat and where he does bat. If you ignore the names (Haddin) where would you ideally bat him? 7 seems about right to me.

I tend to think he would ideally come in around the 38 over mark which would give him enough time to really see what damage he could do.

I agree that Haddin is far too good to come in at 8 and the same with Johnson at 9 and Starc at 10. Great problem to have but we miss out in some ways

Not part of the Tri Series but Australia amassed a large score of 371 against India. Warner 100 and Maxwell a quick century
