I've gotta say that I'm struggling to think of anyone.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Not on this forum. I recall some posters saying the other one was going nuts.

I think we were all big fans of the concept of a Jarrad Boumann, it was just the reality that wasn't so hot.

Yes indeed. The only thing better than a Jarrod Boumann would be one that can actually play footy.

I still chuckle at the fact that he actually managed not one, but two games of senior football.

I think we can let Boumann references pass into oblivion, however

Liam Jones is a different issue.

My opinion is that we should now be prepared to put an offer to Liam. He has talent and he would realise that his career is dependent on embracing the role of the modern intercepting defender. A role that suits his skillset.

Not sure what Carlton will offer, but I would think 3 years on $400k is now reasonable.

At the same time his contract is being considered.

In any event, Jones said our fans are too mean. So I doubt he'd even want to come back and have these men fans pick on him.
I think it is referred to as "Butchering it".

Johnny Butcher, who is still running around kicking points for Central Districts in the SANFL, somehow got himself on a long term $500k+ deal at the Power. I believe it was on the back of a string of promising late season games. If I remember rightly, we were one of the clubs into him that probably pushed the end $ figure up.

I reckon some of the girls might have been getting stuck in too.

It would be a reasonable offer, you have wonder if he would consider it from us?
My guess is Carlton would now also see him as a required player.

Almost all of the marks he's taken have been intercept marks too. I was listening to the radio the other day (David King I think) and they said that no Carlton player had kicked it to him more than 4 or 5 times.

Despite the negative vibe felt by many Bulldog supporters, Liam is showing great signs in an area of need.

We really lack a tall defender, who can actually mark the ball.

If we eliminate our preconceptions, he ticks the boxes.

I was someone who did not rate him as a forward, but I am now impressed with his reincarnation.

Just perhaps Liam now values the opportunity to be an AFL footballer and is prepared to play any role that provides that opportunity.

Does Liam's reinvention as a tall defender remind you a bit of Peter Foster's career turnaround when Malthouse sent him to CHB? It does to me, tall red headed CHF with sticky hands but who was easy to run under the ball by a smart defender heads to CHB and finds some form.
