The NAB Rising star award for 2016 is a little flawed in the way players are nominated and the final judging, but generally the winners are pretty good footballers.

I thought Mclean was also a good chance this week with an impressive display. Caleb had a good game as well.

Lots of good young players doing the rounds, and I expect the first year players will receive the early nominations as their form is more likely to taper off as the season progresses.

Any risk that the selection committee have forgotten Caleb is still eligible? I didn't see Oliver's game, but if it was better than Daniel's game, it must have been a ripper.

Oliver was super. Very impressive kid, and a beast around the footy.

Oliver deserves it, Parish & Mills will get nods in the next few rounds, Weitering too.
Happy for the pups to fly under the radar for a while.

I'd still say that Daniel had the stronger game and he was talked up on AFL.com, he was also crucial in getting us really close to the Hawks and he was beating Mitchell in the third quarter.

Sicily will likely get it and will deserve it if he does.

I was sitting with two Hawks supporters who I grew up with, and one of them suggested he had Dermie traits and is renowned as to have them amongst Hawks supporters. I gave him a lot of shit for that until the last quarter.
