The hurn case, what a farce
Not to mention Tippa only getting a fine for jumping off the ground and bumping his opponent in the head.

Hawkins getting 2 down to 1 week for brushing Davis'.jaw and Tom Lynch getting a fine for a full-blooded punch to the stomach.

    Dreadful week for the MRP

I'm still in shock over the Viney one. Hit someone 5 times doing a Mohammed Ali .. One week , brush a blokes jaw and it's two weeks . Hawkins should have hit him 3 times and got his weeks dropped.

Hawkins is 2 weeks and early plea means one, same as Viney. Geelong will certainly challenge and it will be down graded to a fine, otherwise he gets 2 and misses playing us.

Not directly concerning us, but I have found myself strangely on North Melbournes side regarding the "injustice" of Lindsay Thomas' suspension for taking out Lachie Hunter.

I think it was worth looking at by the tribunal, and I was happy a suspension was issued. However, as the linked video demonstrates it is hardly a lone occurrence in the league. And yet, it is the only incident of the lot to even be mentioned at having been looked at by the MRP.

Now obviously Thomas' was the only one to end with a concussion, but still surely they at least assess the action itself like they do with the other incidents continually listed in the MRP findings.

If none of the other incidents even warranted a look at by the MRP you have to question it's consistency yet again, and all bias aside when you consider Thomas had less time to react than any of the others and had an opponent who was starting from a low position making a tackle awkward to execute he was somewhat unlucky to be the only player to cop a punishment. Especially when you see the pathetically crude coathanger Blicavs "executed" this week on Nathan Wilson that wasn't even mentioned in the MRP findings.

            18. Western Bulldogs

            18. A. No Western Bulldogs players shall make any contact with any opposition players above the shoulder. Up to and including pats of support. Offences shall carry a minimum of one week suspension, or in cases not likely to receive media attention a 100% loading applies.

            18. B. If opposition players make any contact with Western Bulldogs players heads, deliberate, reckless, accidental or incidental then the Match Review Panel is obligated to grade such impact such that it the opposition player shall not be suspended. In cases likely to attract media attention, a one week suspension can be granted if it was effected by a tip rat like Lindsay Thomas. However, AFL media shall be obligated to run stories that the aforementioned tip rat was being 'tried by media'.

Rules are rules. Just gotta move onto next week.
            Gold!

And I thought they had something against us. They are simply following the rules.

            Love it!

              The Hawkins suspension is disgraceful.

A seriously very poor decision, so much inconsistency in the last couple of weeks.
Would have been very happy if he got two matches though.

What happened to the pure 1 match suspension. It seems to be always a 2 match suspension downgraded to 1 if the player pleads guilty. 2 matches for what Hawkins did is ridiculous.
