It was funny watching that last free on the replay. The tackle gets the North player UNDER his armpit and all of a sudden his head snaps back. Deserve to lose if you want to do stuff like that.

At lest Toby gets his head ripped off when he gets his frees

It'll be that head high to cantremembernowfornorth deep in Hawthorn's forward line with 21 seconds to go. If North had got the free they would obviously have had plenty of time to get the ball forward and kick the winning goal. Instead the free went to the Hawks they kicked a goal and it was all over.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

North were pretty good I thought. They would have beat most teams tonight. They probably would have beat Hawthorn tonight if they had have kicked a bit straighter.

I hate North with a passion but they were really good tonight.. There backline was huge. Tarrant absolutely destroyed Gunston.

Hawthorn only getting 270 possessions is very unusual!

Crowd 37k, would like to think we can smash that tomorrow night.

Majak was horrible up forward but he was very good when shifted to the ruck in the 2nd half.

Firrito had more wrestles than possessions tonight - what a complete and utter liability for his team

North's wasted chances in the first really came back to bite them. It was a good game and North will come away with a fair bit of confidence considering their players they had out. Hawthorn scare me if they make top 4 this year. They won't go away.

I think you can almost guarantee they'll be top 4 now, their run is looking good from here. Think they've been very lucky on the quality of footy they've played though.

Hawthorn don't scare me anything like they used to. I think we have their measure and really started to open them up when we played them earlier this year. We were 20 points up at one stage and had them by the throat.

The thing with Hawthorn is their level of professionalism and self-belief, it keeps them in the contest but there is no problem scoring against them and if you take you're chances they're very beatable. They have been kicking groups of goals in bursts as well and are playing pretty inconsistent footy throughout the duration of a match and can go long periods without getting much of it and without troubling the scorers. North dominated them last night with Waite, Higgins, Swallow and Cunnington out of the team.

I actually think we can beat anyone and if we get across the line with our outs tonight the pot will be bubbling.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

On the other hand, if we lose (shhh) we could drop as low as 8th leading into the Sydney game (given we have a bye next week and the WCE play before us in round 15).

Interesting to hear Brad Scott's presser - apparently he accused the umpires of refusing to award Lindsay Thomas a free kick because "he is a ducker". The AFL is investigating. (That carpet is about to get lumpier at AFL House - it'll be swept under like the Talia investigation).

The umpires are mic'd aren't they? That particular recording might end up in the same place as Talia's mobile.

I think it will be a big crowd tonight, get there as early as possible if you haven't book a seat. Game starts at 7.25, I think at least by 6.45? Maybe some one else can help with that.
