Geelong got murdered at ground level as well as off half back .
Impressed with Sydney's young players tonight . Allir has been there for a while now, and their development and coaching is first class
What do you mean? The Geelong player was standing up right, faced the Boundary line, and kicked it sideways or narrowly backwards, with force to ensure it went over. Throw in every day of the week in the 1890's.
Actually, and I can't believe that I know something as stupid as this off the top of my head, the field umpire punched the ball back into play like a volleyball service and the ball had to hit the ground before it could be touched by a player. They didn't have boundary umpires until 1904.
