Enhanced security at AFL games

The security was really beefed up as I entered the SCG on Thursday night.

In the past, they have been slack but this time I had to empty my bag and they really checked through my stuff. And then I was given a body scan with a metal detector.

Is that happening now at other grounds?

Sign of the times I suppose, or I am looking a lot more dodgy in my old age?

Yes. It's happened each time I've attended a match at the G this year. I never take a bag, but see others having theirs prodded through and partially emptied.

Yep. Enhanced for sure, but not to the extent like the extra fence they had around the MCG during the Big Bash last year (or the year before was it).

Long overdue, the last couple of games at Etihad I've noticed a big difference.

Sign of the times. That said, they never check people in wheelchairs. I went through the 3 finals in 2016 (not WC), and didn't get my things searched once. Haven't this year either.
