Yeah - I actually think your team wins it pretty easily (and in 8 out of every 10 games)...still, it was a fun exercise.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Wouldn't we just put our 2016 Premiership side against it to settle the argument........?

That side beat the WCE side that was the clear form side of the competition in Perth, then beat the premiership side from the previous three years on their deck, then went up to Sydney and beat the clear favourites for the flag on their deck, and then won the GF against the apparently obvious best side of the year that won 17 games...........

I don't care who you put on the field, our 2016 side is ****ing them in the face.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Love your passion for that 2016 side , i know we ow them many many thanks for finally bringing home the bacon after so many years , but realistically no way were we the best side that year, we were the best form side coming into the finals ,we hit a purple streak for 5 or 6 weeks which won us a flag , and that's what every side aims at being cherry ripe come finals time ( of course you aim to make the finals ).

One thing with that side - we got beaten by a huge margin once (by Geelong) and the rest of the losses were 4 goals or less with the majority by less than 10 points. We were one game out of top 4, and the top team only won 2 more games than us.

I totally get your point bornadog , but we did get beaten 7 times that year , i would expect the best side to lose 3 or 4 at the most not 7 . My point is we fly into the finals with a wet sail and nothing was going to stop us because of the form we were in , end result the flag .

We only lost two more games than the Swans and had a horrible run with injuries as the year progressed. Whilst still a bit inconsistent throughout the course of the year we showed at times we were as good as anyone, and proved it in the finals.

There was a lot of talk about who was the best team of the year, most of it was gushing over the Swans who we had beaten on their deck two years in a row during the home and away season. I guess I'm saying there was no clearly superior side, and you're right, we hit our purest form and the rest was history.

The only team we didn't beat at some point that season was Geelong.

I think you've bought in to the narrative that we were lucky a bit too much Naughty! It was even season with no clear best team, until we earned that right in September (and October...)!

Back to Jeemak's point, Izak Rankine would have been no match for Biggsy.

I think we kinda got off track a bit here , we were talking about all australian sides and i was responding to jeemak, about his comment about our 2016 side when he said .
( I don't care who you put on the field, our 2016 side is ****ing them in the face ) . Now maybe that was just off the cuff , and was said in jest , im not sure , and i said i didn't think we were even the best side in 2016 , which was up for contention . my point was that 2016 side im not sure takes care of the all Aust sides that were being discussed , wasn't a go at that 2016 side or jeemak personally , so i hope that clears that up a bit
