Definitely should've won that. Pressure and contest work was brilliant.

Kicking and decision making not so much. Really bad infact.

On several occasions coming out of defence in the last quarter we went to a short 50/50 on the boundary.

I just finished watching the replay. The four quarter effort against a supposed quality team was terrific. Definite improvement from last season. Had Hawthorn on the ropes for a large part of it but the kicking execution and decison making at key moments didn't help. The one that got away.
A little tidy up and this team will be going places in a hurry. Get on board if you aren't already.

It’s blatantly obvious our forward line lacks some real quality. We put it in there more than any other team.
I don’t think we have the connection right either , but our backline and mids are doing a massive job with pressure .
There is definitely a group coming together .

Another frustrating loss to Carlton. Too many missed goals .

Our disposal by foot is often really poor, except for a few players. Has to be a focus in off season. Our ball winning ability in clearances is good. Sounds familiar.

Were our own worst enemy and the umpiring is still shit. I was happy with Razor last week which would have been the first time ever

                Poise. Poise. Poise.
We do a lot right but just need to take a breath and assess kicking into that forward 50. Especially in the first half. Nail some of the opportunities and we could have built 'scoreboard pressure'.
Good to have Berry back .

A lot of improvement from last year but we still do lack polished across the ground.

Our pressure is right up there though and we're getting good looks but unfortunately also breaking down going into F50.

We need to bring Weston-Turner in asap and get games into her.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Anyone who hasn't caught it yet, I'd highly encourage you to listen to the interview with Tam Hyett on the Danny/Boyd podcast - she goes quite in depth in the metrics the club is using to measure success this year beyond the simple wins and losses count. Apparently we're #1 for pressure and in the top 5 for clearance in the comp, it's just our efficiency in front of goal has been lacking the last few weeks. Get that cleaned up and well, we proved in pre-season our best is good enough to match the top teams.

I was going to suggest the same after listening to it last night.

The news I've been waiting months for, Hardingham to debut on Saturday:

                        Best of luck to her!

The effort is there but the polish isn't kicked ourselves out of it. If we converted the early attempts the pressure would have been there.

It’s stood out every game that our delivery into the forward line and lack of a big strong forward is our downfall.
Which is sad when you look at who we recruited and lost we would have been the strongest in the league .
The AFLWs rules on new sides coming completely ripped us building a team to compete let alone make finals .
But this year we see our midfield and backs are up with the top sides, we are screaming for a big strong forward and learning to lower our eyes and spot up when going into a scoring position. It’s extremely frustrating for us fans and the coach etc as we can all see it .
Our list and recruiting team have one Job next year and need to throw all the things we can into acquiring a couple of big forwards and a mid /forward connection that works .

Hartwig had her chances and blew it and did everything right except put the score on the board. McDonald looks the goods but needs to get involved more.
I would like to try Grant out as a key forward as she looks more confident at the contest can mark the ball and this year has near 70% disposal efficiency. I think her old man give her a trick or two to play the position.
