Is it just me, or what the hell is going on with Carlton's shorts? Did they get put through the wash with a team's worth new jeans?
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

The swap a couple of years ago of pick 11 (Charlie Curnow) for picks 20 and 21 (Josh Dunkley and Keiran Collins) is not looking flash at the moment. Dunks is terrific but Curnow is an absolute jet. Need Collins to come good and fast.

If there's a market for how many 'protected zone' free kicks we will give away Sunday, I'm setting the line at 5 and putting my hard earned on an overs result...
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I had exactly the same thought. Doesn’t Carlton’s budget extend to a bit of White King to keep those shorts looking pearly white?

Apart from the dingy shorts, Carlton have played well, in fact with both teams their fast and creative movement into the forward line reminds me of what went completely missing for us last year.

Someone has put those shorts in with the colours.

I get what you mean. Curnow has all the tools to be very good player but Dunks has a premiership Medallian around his neck already. I don't know that Curnow could have done what Dunkley did for us on Grand Final day 2016. Maybe Curnow is ready to take that step now but Dunkley was ready then, when we needed him to step up.

Not everybody can. Indeed there were a few on the Swans side that didn't on the day and it's probably those four or five performances that cost them.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I love Dunks - he is honest, brave, has strong hands, and reads the play very well. But Curnow is potential top 5 in the comp - he is Bont-esque, and might actually reach that level in 2018 and will continue for another 10+ years.

We desperately need Collins to come good to justify that trade.

But my point is Dunkley was ready to play a part in winning a premiership in 2016 and if we had taken Curnow then he probably wouldn't have been and maybe that turns the game in Sydney's favour? Curnow might lead Carltin to five premierships but Josh Dunkley has played in one already.

                    Potential is just that

Were we even interested in Curnow?

Dunks played a pretty big role in our flag. I'm content with it.

I posted elsewhere that I think Dunkley is a bit of a freak, and we'll see that with some continuity.

Having said that, Curnow is going to be something extra special. If Schache comes along then it will be a consolation, if all of Dunkley, Collins and Schache become good long term senior players for us then we walk away from the 2015 draft big winners.

Worst decision ever. Why were they allowed to wear grey to begin with when they aren't even wearing a clash Guernsey.
The only bit of colour that would normally distinguished them from Richmond is the white away shorts and they were a dark grey.

What was with those bizarre sweat pocket panels on the back. Seemed to get darker the sweatier the players got.
I'm sure some material scientist came up with this great idea in the nike laboratory, but that was just weird.

I get clubs want to alter their look each year to sell new gear but seriously the AFL are so lax when it comes to policing this. You can throw in umpires clashing with teams as well. Not that it happened last night but at least once a year we see it.
Seriously, how hard is it to approve and check all this before hand.

The umpires seem to do this every year. First round it's 50 metres if you glance at the player within a 20 metre radius. In a few rounds time you could probably to a cartwheel through the mark and nothing will be called.

In all seriousness the players should be fully aware the umpires are going to be red hot on it after last nights game and not enter the area.

Apparently the pocket-like patches are a chamois patch addition to the shorts for players to dry their hands on.

Never mind the fact the shorts looked like the new bootstudder mistakenly tossed them in the wash with new guernseys.
