Thanks for this, I was actually going to do a similar exercise myself but hadn't got around to it. Absolute farce that we have to head there every season. The four smaller Melbourne clubs and interstate sides mean that unsurprisingly they win majority of their home games and qualify for finals year after year. I've had enough of the continual bias towards this mob from the AFL in terms of fixturing and blind eyes turned away from their salary cap and soft cap issues.

Carlton and Melbourne are salient examples of the same trajectory that we could have easily gone down at the end of 2023, had we not changed our coaching dept, personnel and game style 18 months ago

We're not the finished article by any stretch, but we have adapted in line with latest trends in the game. Carlton and Melbourne are stuck in the mud with what looks like an outdated game style. I reckon Melbourne will get out of the mire quicker as they have drafted real speed and young talent in the last couple of years.

Not sure either Voss or Goodwin will make though.

Was thinking the same thing. There was a clear change in tack at the end of 2023, people haven't always liked it but it's evolved us ahead of a few others.

Be hard-pressed to find a better game all season than GC v Adelaide. Brilliant game of footy. I reckon both are locks for top 8.

Mac Andrew is lucky he's playing AFL, Thilthorpe had every right to loosen a few of his choppers the way he carried on at the end. Great captaincy by Anderson to pull him away.

Not sold on either side. Crows don't have a KPD. But good early form.

There's going to be a lot of talk about that Rankine non-free.

I hope Gold Coast don't do their typical mid-season dropping of bundles again.

That level of incompetence from the umpire is either enough to get him fired or enough to trigger an enquiry into corruption. You can't tackle in a marking contest, unbelievable.

Watching Richmond and although they are going down by 40 odd points they have some good kids and showing some signs to look forward to.
If any team in the lower ladder looks like making head way in the next year or two it’s Richmond.

I think Yze can coach. They're playing with spirit, but they're just mostly kids.
