    Draft Assistance

Once more we have a team looking for draft assistance, although it is not official yet - West Coast are the team tipped who will ask .

Do they deserve assistance? Jon Ralph has looked at each clubs top 10 and Top 20 picks in the current team and WC are lacking players in that band width.

I think it is the fault of clubs who trade out early picks to recruit ready made players. There has to be a balance in what you do as a list manager.

Should clubs get priority picks and how should that look?

I think Jon's suggestion may work and it doesn't compromise the draft.

A submission for help could involve extra rookie spots and points to secure indigenous NGA talent. They won’t get a first round pick but this is compelling and will form part of any submission

Ummm...what if you trade away pick 3 or whatever it was for Liam Baker?

If you're dumb enough to do that then you waive all rights to draft assistance.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Not to mention the multiple first rounders they coughed up for Tim Kelly. Self inflicted problems should not lead to handouts.

Adam Simpson recently admitted the club got it wrong a few years back when they tried to reload with their older players rather than rebuild. Reap what you sow.

Come back in 10 years if you are still down the bottom of the ladder.

Uncompetitive teams drag down the competition and I'm not against teams getting assistance. West Coast however, have hardly paid their dues and as others have mentioned a lot of this is of their own doing.
Tinkering around with rookie picks isn't going to change anything unless it's part of a bigger assistance package.

Let them trade Reid for 3 picks and trade a future pick to get some currency now. I'd look at it again in a couple of years.

It really doesnt matter. North has 26 top 20 picks ... They still suck.
