It was a shame Port couldn't beat Freo. Their skill levels really let them down. In any case, we can't rely on other teams losing; we have to win both last games.

The Saints and Cats are pushing for uncompromised 1st round of the Draft
I'm tending agree that it's not good enough to have so many picks being pushed back.
Thoughts?

I would like to see the points system change such that you can't use a heap of picks in the 30's & 40's to get someone in the 1st round.
I haven't given it lots of thoughts to see how it exactly works but I'm suggesting that if a F/S or academy pick is selected in the 1st round, one of the picks used for your points needs to be no more than 5 spots from when he is selected.
For example, when we took JUH at pick one, rather than using picks 29, 33, 41, 42, 52, and 54 for all the points needed we would have had to use at least pick 5 (or one better) to help gather points. If we didn't have pick 5 or better, we either obtain it when JUH was selected by Adelaide, or he goes to the Crows.

I tend to agree with them. It would be a better outcome for all clubs to get their draft pick per their ladder position.

This is probably a good base point.
Perhaps allow a combo of the current round and the next one but also remove the discount.
Would require the club to trade on draft night to get a needed pick rather than stockpile the lesser picks.

Yep, this makes a lot of sense. But can it wait until all of our f/s are through the door.
I love how there's so little integrity in the game that they make up NGA rules on the fly.
Melbourne miss Mac Andrew, Saints miss McKenzie, wait ...Essendon have a good one, let's reinstate it.
