Ditto Sydney and also the AFLW with the previously mentioned examples - they are obviously not serious about their messaging when their direct actions betray the message.

I'm well aware that there are some people who are perpetuating a narrative to suit their agenda. Strip it all back and it's all pretty simple - the penalty is 5 weeks (or more), precedent has been well set, punish Rankine and move on. But then don't spend millions on GF entertainment for an artist whose lyrics are so obviously diametrically opposed to your organisations specific views on inclusion and respect for women.
I know you preface it with AFL bashing, which is smart because we all dislike the AFL, but are you not actually just advocating for no company to express any social values at all? If ANZ disciplined an employee for homophobic slurs would you call them out as hypocrites for dealings they have with other companies/individuals that don't align with their stated pro-lgbt values? What differentiates the AFL in this instance from any other company that also holds the same beliefs and enforces similar rules?

Aside from you declaring the AFL 'position their organisation as the moral arbiter of all that is right and just' I don't actually see how the AFL is different than any other company that says they're green while polluting the environment, says they care about racial justice before removing their DEI policies once Trump is elected, or claims to care about 'the community' while avoiding any tax bill like a plague and using profits to buy their own stocks and enrich the people running the company. Why should my outrage be focused on the AFL for hiring a guy that said some homophobic stuff in 2017 or whenever when they are actually doing the correct thing in this very moment and demonstrating their values for once rather they just espousing them? Genuinely. What am I missing that makes the AFL worse?

Some lazy so and so as far as I can tell didn't post a Monday soap box thread this week.

      But here's mine.........

We literally had Neo-Nazi fascist scum given a platform in the city to sprout their bullshit ideologies, and then that wasn't good enough or enough of a fill for them, the ****s had to go to Kings Domain and vandalise a peaceful ongoing encampment protest and physically assault those resisting their bullshit violence. And nobody at the AFL thought this might be a good time to show solidarity with the indigenous community across the country, that has just suffered the most overt physical affront I can remember in recent years.

Think about that. These Dreamtime at the ****en G wankers just witnessed Neo-****en-Nazis assault our indigenous brothers and sisters, and have nothing to say about it. Nobody does, and it's ****en disgusting. Can you think of any better time for the AFL to stand in solidarity with the community they espouse to protect and promote?

Shame. And if anyone here is OK with what happened, you're a **** and I'll take the ban in prosecuting that sentiment. Get the **** out of here, we don't need fascist Neo-Nazi racist ****s on this board.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

        Testify .

I imagine there's a couple here who belong to the whydonttheyjustgetoverit mob who are glad someone is finally taking a stand against "woke".

But back to footy. My Monday Soapbox is the eternal weariness of us talking up scoring that big name recruit that we desperately need to poach to fill X hole but knowing full well we'll end up with nothing good and a handful of unreliable wings instead.

Is there any govt funding tied to Dills issuing a statement condemning that pear-shaped Neo-Nazi loser and his deadshit mates causing havoc on the weekend? Outside of govt funding, the AFEL do not care about the causes they espouse - it is nothing more than a box-ticking exercise.

Indigenous numbers, both in the national comp and in the pathway/feeder systems, are in alarming decline and have been for a number of years - the AFEL have been well aware of this but they don't give a shit outside of Dreamtime at the G and Sir Doug Nicholls Round. It's all performative art for them. Dills and all the other incompetent senior executives at the AFEL are guaranteed to get their 7-figure bonuses, which is all they ultimately care about.

I can’t prove it but Silvagni to Saints is insider trading and SOS should be brought before ASIC or the ACCC or something

There were some rumors floating that have the Saints and Blues contemplating some trade shenanigans

Saints give a bigger deal to JSOS so that it triggers either a 1st round or at worst an end first round compensation.
That pick gives the Blues nearly all the points they need for Harry Dean
The Saints offer their 1st rounder for TDK and a sweetener.

It's going to come under scrutiny.

It's not though - surely we have worked out by now that integrity and the AFL are mutually exclusive.

Well that would explain why Silvagni chose the 10 year old Toyota Yaris (St Kilda) over the Lexus NX (Collingwood) and BMW 7 series (Western Bulldogs).
