Poor old Jack Billings.
Is he the most maligned player to average 20 touches a game and play 172 of the bloody things? That game where he nailed us with plenty of touches and four goals in the Clay Smith knee injury come back of 2015 had me thinking he had the right stuff (he got two Brownlow votes as a half forward, he really stood out). He was excellent that day but his body mixed with a few other things just didn't give him the best opportunity to show his true value. Funnily, his type if drafted today would be hugely valuable if he ran hard enough.
In 2019 he objectively had an All Australian squad standard year, finishing fourth in the Saints B&F playing a blend of half forward and through the middle, average 26 touches a game and kicking a goal every second game. Nobody will remember that and it's a shame.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Ryan Burton is 28, had some knee and foot issues over the last two years but I thought he has still been quite good when he gets on the park.
He is 191cm (so no monster, but evidently that is the same height as Wilkie). Not saying he is the solution to our defensive woes, but he has been delisted, so a complete free swing and a bit of depth?Screenshot 2025-09-30 at 1.22.33 am.png

Burton might still have some good football ahead of him but you really want players in that age bracket to at least be fit.
Our recruiting manager would be well aware of his value and injury concerns.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 1Comment

You would have to think Burton would be more likely to replace Coffield. When fit he can play but you can probably say the same for Coffield.

Burton went over in the Wingard trade if I recall rightly- really that trade was a bit of a bust for both parties.👍 2Comment
