Going to be some good games in week 1 of the finals .
    Adelaide vs Collingwood .
This game is a real danger game for the Pies , im not sure they can match the Crows run , but Isak Rankine will be a big loss for the Crows .
With guys like Tilthorpe, Fogarty and Walker forward the Pies will struggle to contain thoes 3 big guys .
Adelaide move the ball so quickly with most of their backmen runners , they might be to strong for a stuttering Pies out fit . Crows by 20 points .
    Geelong vs Brisbane .
This game looks a beauty , if Brisbane can limit the likes of Smith and Holmes run and the creativity of guys like Miers , Close and Atkins they will go a long way to winning .
This game will be tight but im backing Geelong to get over the Lions in a narrow victory .
    GWS vs Hawthorn .
Most finals games are a tight contest and this game will be just that , both side like to run and gun with guys like Callaghan , Kelly , Darcy Jones , Bedford through the midfield and the likes of Ash and Whitfield running off the backline for GWS they look very menacing , add Hogan if he plays the two greens and arguably the best center half back in the game Sam Taylor , you can see why they have made finals .
The Hawks on the other hand move the ball as quickly as GWS , im just not sure they have enough fire power up forward to kick a wing score , so GWS by 2 or 3 goals .
    Fremantle vs Gold Coast .
Iv been a big admirer of Gold Coast this year with match winners like Anderson , Miller and Rowell and the run from guys like Noble and Rioli to name only a couple and big guys like Andrew , Witts and King , and x factor guys like Long and Humphrey , they have a side that can go deep into this years finals .
Im not a big rap for Freo , we should have beaten them but alas we didnt and they are playing finals , but i think will go out in the 1st week , the Suns by 24 points .

Finals football - it's a new ball game. I give the Pies a chance if they start well. But if the reverse Adelaide will win by 3-4 goals.
Geelong v Brisbane - flip a coin. Geelong by a kick
Freo will beat Suns in another close one and GWS will just get over the line against Hawthorn

Geelong haven't played a top 8 team for 8 weeks and Pies haven't beaten any teams in the top 8 for 12 weeks.

        Will be an interesting round.

True. Pies have a point to prove against Adelaide since the 2nd homophobic slur from Rankine. If Collingwood keep their nerve it could be a close game. Without Howe and Hill I wonder what McCrae has up his sleeve?
After Adelaide and Rankine both claimed they'd accept whatever sanction came their way then proceeded to haggle.
I'd enjoy a loss at home for the Crows, then a loss next week. Then Snoop Dog bombing worse than Meatloaf would be ideal.

Crows forwards were awful that qtr. You shouldn't let the opposition take 12 intercept marks in D50 in a whole match, let alone one qtr.

Pretty down watching this, finals footy is awesome and there is just no excuse for not being out there this year. Don’t care for any excuses this team should be playing finals and it’s a MASSIVE failure.

Hope Bevo is paying attention this finals series, surge footy is king and the best teams are spreading the ground for their athletes. Not compressing it like we do. Our game plan has been outdated for 3+ years now and if we go in again with the same old Bevo method next year we’ve got no hope.

would love to see what a known qty coach of 2025 football could do with this list to be completely honest. Knowing Bevo I can’t imagine much changing about the way we go about it next year and let’s be honest, can we stand up under this sort of pressure with our handball game? Not a ****ing chance….

We need to transition to a surge football, high pressure manic game again and we’ll be hard to beat.

Gotta admire the Pies. You knew they'd challenge Adelaide and make them play their best.

Interesting that before the game they were hot gospelling, constant movement in changeroom v Crows calm, like Nth Melb v Pies? in 70s gf replay, Barrassi hot gospelling v Pies? calm.

Its poor form and if it continues its only going to galvanise Collingwood even more.

No finals for Adel in 8 years and it’s showing… playing a boring style with lots of dump kicks and getting little in the air up forward.

Lucky to be only 6 points down.

Their defenders have been elite tonight so far. Your defenders need to be able to, you know, defend on occasions.

By contrast, we made Adelaide's key forwards look like Carey, Lockett and Dunstall when we played them.
