Dogs are a long way off standing up to that type of finals intensity. We need a different edge in 2026 if we want to prosper.

Hopefully the coaches and boys can work through it in the offseason.

THAT, was very satisfying!
Nicks, Reilly O'Brien, all the Adelaide high up hypocritical legals and their desperate bureaucrats with their weaselly deflections and half hearted ambiguous statements. The team leaders who chose not to make clear indisputable public declarations. The menacing loud booing, taunting, bullying homophobic fans....(Or just their fans aggrieved by having a player being made accountable for gay slurs, the snitching was worse than the bigotry they claimed) The Crows fans baiting their own fans in the stands with bigoted jeers, goading and belittling. Well, suffer in your jocks. And, much power to the Collingwood players yet again on the end of that disgraceful abuse.
Obviously there's more to it than the mental and emotional toll. Hawthorn read the opposition and played a blinder. Well done. For me and mine it was a fortuitous outcome.
I do think the overwhelming stress of the failure of the Adelaide Club at all tiers to not be unequivocal and zero tolerance in all responses heaped the pressure and weight on the Crows too far on their scales.
We have a long way to go in AFL, hopefully all clubs will learn from this. My family, loved ones, friends and community who were bruised and desolately let down by the AFL and Adelaide's response to the homophobic vilification will sleep a little easier and feel a sense of vindication that Adelaide have not prospered as a result, regardless of whether it was entirely a consequence of a cultural dereliction.

I don’t see it that way at all.

We aren’t a long way off… a tweak to our system, the (hopeful) addition of a couple of players in key spots and some natural improvement will have us in a good spot.

But the pressure is on Bevo (especially) & the players/ coaching staff to find the extra 5-10% we need.

He really impacts games. The Hawks traded with the Swans to move up the order to get him.
