Missed the nominations so didn’t realise. Thanks for clarifying.

Just read Libba and Callum Ward as well. All extremely impressive as to the work they do in the community. There are some genuinely brilliant people within the footy community and it is great to read and hear what they do (rather than hearing about the ego centric windbags).

Bont is now equal 9th on the all time Brownlow list with 213 votes, 49 votes behind Gary Ablett Jnr.

He's also 4th for 3 vote games with 52 (4 behind Dangerfield) and 6th for average votes per game at 0.87 (Nick Daicos 1st with an incredible 1.24).

Bont may never win a Brownlow but odds are he retires number 1 for both votes and 3 vote games.

I’m not a believer in the Brownlow at all , I think it is totally flawed but I did see a clip of Chris Fagan with his wife trying to avoid the red carpet stuff, also saw the player interview where he gave the wet Willy .
He is such a lovable bloke no wonder the players respect him so much .

Pretty damn good effort by the Bont , 25 votes , didn't play until round 6 , not saying he would have won it , but he would have given it a real shake .
The Bont has 4 or 5 years of really top football left in him and would't surprise if he wins it eventually .
Loyal , brilliant footballer , will be the best this club has produced , humble and fantastic clubman , deserves all the accolades that have been bestowed on him .

The award has lost all semblance of relevance given the shambolic vote counts in recent years.

It’s just a popularity contest for the midfielders where votes are given to players for performances that are not vote worthy. Like how the **** does a season like that earn 39 votes?… just FRO! And the seasons of Warner and Cripps getting close to, or over 20 votes… they’re just taking the piss when Ed only gets 11.

Another thing that has been ****ed over by top office that used to hold strong interest to the lovers of AFL.

I haven't spent more than 10 or 15 minutes watching the Brownlow for a few years now. I agree that it's lost it's relevance.

Going back through the archives there's always been some strange votes in the brownlow. It's now just easier to track it with the wide access to stats and the ability to circulate it easily.

But I do think it's gone to another level recently. The amount of votes some players are getting is mind boggling. It's a bit of a joke and Bont should be happy his reputation hasn't been tarnished by winning one.

They don't even pretend that it's not a sham now. Richards had an unbelievable year. Just for the wrong team.

Baz rocking up in complete knob head mode makes you wonder if he already knew the result.

This implies he has another mode?

Unshakable in my belief that the Brownlow has been rigged every year since 2013 to make sure that a Matt Priddis type never wins again

Matt Priddis won in 2014. Matt Priddis also finished 2nd in 2015 on 28 votes. Fyfe won in 31. So I'm not sure about the Matt Priddis theory.

In a match 52 years ago, Leigh Matthews had 42 possessions and kicked 11 goals - no Brownlow votes.

This has been going on since 1924.
