I don't know why they don't just make it twelve and make it the most hyper scrutinised micro managed sport in the planet.

Throw in even more strobe lights during the game and really strike the death blow for fans.

The biggest whinge people have is missed free kicks so if 4 umpires helps Im happy to give it a chance.

AFL has told clubs tonight that the medical substitute is out.

Will be replaced by the tactical substitute - four on the bench and then a sub to be used at any time for any reason. AFL Commission set to approve change in December.

So not a 5 man bench. Clubs will need to sub out a player to activate the sub.
