Very enjoyable game. Happy with the result but wouldn't have been upset if it went the other way. Eagles dominated the last half of the quarter, so many missed opportunities lucky for them it didn't bite them in the arse. Jack Darling needs to thank all his teammates after that blunder in the final minute.

Ripper game..didn’t worry me who won, I just wanted to see a close one. Fantastic kick from sheed and a worthy norm smith winner in shuey. McGovern, Schofield and barrass were sensational.

Interesting stats that occurred to me,

A Rioli has played in the last four premierships, except 2016 (Cyril, Daniel, Willie).
Clarkson or one his assistants have coached the premiership team for the last 6 years (Clarkson X 3, Bevo, Dimma, Simpson)

McGovern was huge. Never really rated Schofield but he was fantastic. I probably had him as my BOG, however in saying that shuey did deserve it. Great at game. Sometimes it is good being a neutral and enjoying the spectacle for what it is.

Great game. I feared the Eagles were going to roll over though thought if the could snag one late in the first not all would be lost. I’m glad they nailed two and set up a ripping contest.

I'm watching the post game show. Jimmie's voice might be shot, but he still puts in. Plus, he's Jimmy Barnes, so there's that. Diesel sounds great. What a musician.

Collingwood and West Coast put on both of the only two finals worth watching and they were both cracking games.

That shot on goal from Sheed was insane. I can't remember a bigger clutch set shot in a Grand Final.

I feel for Nathan Buckley. Deserves to be part of a premiership.

Any doubt over who 'won' the Kennedy- Judd trade has surely been put to bed.

I almost feel for Eddie. So many gut wrenching losses. Only seeing 1 in 6 Grand Finals in his time result in a premiership.

In another sense, I guess Peter Gordon can say he's been President of his club for as many premierships as Eddie has. Except PG's going at 100% hit rate, not 1 in 6.

Like most of us I have never experienced a GF loss. 2016 fantastic we got in and won. My brother is a Pies fan and he is dissapointed right now especially in that they led for the majority of the game. That would certainly hurt.

West Coke had 38 I50's to 18 in the 2nd half. Had they taken their chances they would have won by 5+ goals.

Very gutsy win coming from 5 goals down in a GF. Simpson coached the house down - the work done on Grundy and Sidebottom was instrumental to their domination in general play as the game wore on. By contrast, moving Greenwood off Yeo and onto Shuey at half time was a massive fail - Yeo got off the chain and Shuey was too good for Greenwood in the clinches.

McGovern and Barrass were massive down back with their intercept marks, and Schofield nullified about 7 critical one-on-ones deep in defence against De Goey and Sidebottom throughout the game.

The better team clearly won today.

Spare a thought for poor Alex Woodward.

After having what would have been a long and successful career destroyed by a dodgy knee (the guy could seriously play), Nathan Buckley hires him as a runner, and he makes an error that leads to a goal in a grand final decided by 5 points. Was absolutely shattered in the rooms.

I wished upon wish that he'd make it after watching him in the 2014 VFL grand final. Its heartbreaking to see quality players and quality people not get a good run at it. Devastating.

Very tense grand final. Don't know I could survive a game like that if we were in it...

Glad the Eagles won, they were the better side. Momentum changed quite a few times and the Eagles were able to maintain pressure and see the Pies off while they made their runs. Huge after being down by so much early. Sheed kicking that goal was huge, while McGovern had a great finish. The last passage of play was textbook - players out on their feet and the game was won by a few crucial moments in the air.

Was also happy to see Footsteps nearly drop the cup so I had something to rib my mates who support West Coast about.
