Well done to Ellis . His had a tough up bringing and has used footy to get the best out of life

Big bodied , strong tackler, and kicks goals for a half back . His better than some on our list. Has managed to stay in a strong side despite some reservations from his coach at the start of the season . So he must be doing a few things right . Main point his a good story and hopefully the type of strong positive character and leadership that gcs need.

Shout out to the reigning premiers who officially complained to the AFEL that the Ellis compensation wasn't as generous as they'd hoped.

You scooped up Lynch and Prestia from the player nursery up north so maybe read the room before you sook.

* Richmond have elected not to match the offer and Brandon Ellis is now able to join the Gold Coast SUNS immediately. Richmond to receive a Second Round compensation selection, currently selection 39

* Trade paperwork officially lodged. Brisbane Lions sign Unrestricted Free Agent Cameron Ellis-Yolmen. Adelaide Crows to receive a Third Round compensation selection, currently number 47

* Trade paperwork officially lodged. Melbourne sign Unrestricted Free Agent Adam Tomlinson. GWS GIANTS to receive an End of Second Round compensation selection, which would be number 40 on the current provisional draft selection order.

The Cats receive this year's picks 14, 24 and 37 plus next year's first-round selection in exchange for Kelly, pick 57 and a future third-round selection.


The deal also involved Essendon with the Bombers receiving pick No.33 from the Eagles and pick No.57 from Geelong, while giving up pick No.37 to the Cats and No.52 to the Eagles.
