2021 first with a third coming back. I really doubt Adelaide bid at pick one.

ROOS RUCKMAN INTENDS TO STAY PUT

All-Australian ruckman Todd Goldstein is expected to stay at North Melbourne despite speculation about the contracted star’s future.

Goldstein drew significant interest from Geelong at the end of last season before signing a three-year deal to remain at the Kangaroos.

With North Melbourne set to farewell Ben Brown and Shaun Higgins this trade period, questions on Goldstein’s future have also gathered steam. SEN reporter Sam Edmund said today that the 32-year-old is all-but-certain to stay put.

“I can tell you that Todd Goldstein is determined to play out his career at North Melbourne and stay loyal to the Kangaroos,” he said on SEN Breakfast.

“Ben Brown and Shaun Higgins will be playing elsewhere next year, but the influential big man decided several weeks ago that he wanted to stay with the Roos.

“That has since been franked by club chiefs who say they have no intention of trading the 32-year-old.”

          Suckling.

But for serious it's a balancing act - we would need to wedge him out with something attractive, but we need to remain mindful of the fact he's 32.

I don't see it happening, but a girl can dream.

Yeah players have never been wedged out despite what club spokespeople say.

Edit: not even a club spokesperson, Sam Edmund from that bastion of truth and integrity, the Herald Sun. And the quotes excerpt is from Fox Footy.

That settles it. We're definitely getting Goldstein for Suckling.

Does getting Bruce leave us hamstrung in forming a 50/50 ruck combo between English and someone else (e.g. Hickey)?
He's been pretty average as a defender previously but it might be something we have to trial again.

If we get Goldstein, which we will, then why do we need to play Bruce ever again. Just because we made the mistake of giving him a long term deal does not mean we need to compound it by playing him.

It's only fair that Norf try to get the best return they can. Goldstein is gettable now that there is no way Norf are playing finals again with him in the team. That was a bit unclear (at least to Norf at the end of last year), when he turned down the Geelong offer. They did win 10 games last year after all so it was possible (at least to Norf), that they could play finals this year.

Bruce either needs to own FF or he needs to do a Liam Jones and own CHB. No Mr fix-it. A role he is actually not very good at anyway.

Holy Hell. Two incredible goals in the last q of an elimination final...against good opposition...

We could do with some more of that kind of average.
That was me. And I'm sticking by it because of you know....pride.
By average I meant if you lined up 10 guys from the league in his position then he would be 4,5 or 6 picked.
It is possible im wrong through its happened before.
Strange his own club hasn't signed him up, think that will change after the final but makes me wonder why if he's so good

Clearly asking for more money so the negotiations are ongoing.
