Buckley or Lyon for the Blues?

I’m beginning to think they’ll go for Buckley as the younger generation won’t like a coach like Lyon.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Probably Bucks. They need to learn to defend while still scoring. I think that it’s Bucks. Cerra has indicated through ‘sources’ he is unlikely to go there if Lyon is appointed. He won’t at a minimum nominate Carlton until he knows who the coach is. Cerra not a fan of Lyon it seems.

Bucks & Cerra seems a lot better than Lyon and another draft pick.

I remember some years ago Akermanis was pushing for Craig McRae to be the coach of Brisbane. I just did a Google search and yes he did -

This time last year Jason Akermanis was openly questioning why former teammate Michael Voss was being rushed into the Brisbane Lions coaching job.

After 14 years as an assistant coach, Aker was at it again encouraging Craig to apply for the Collingwood role.

Assume it's nothing to do with the actual coaching and more that Akermanis was boosting the one guy at the club that spoke to him.

It was largely about how Aker encouraged him, how good McRae is, and how much Aker has to offer as an assistant coach but having a reputation that precedes him.......but oddly nothing about how that reputation is repeatedly reinforced.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Lyon's withdrawn from the Carlton process, citing an unwillingness to go through a prolonged process that may take up to 45 days.

So I guess he just wanted the gig handed to him, or was told that Cerra doesn't want to get to Carlton if Lyon is coach and to save face he could just make up whatever crap he wanted.

Well - it depends when Carlton first approached him. If they came to him over a month ago (as it seems) and are NOW telling him they are going to start a formal process...well, that sounds like moving goal-posts to me. Why would you want to proceed when the people who are seemingly in charge have no idea what they are doing?

It seems to me everyone is congratulating Collingwood on the McRae (is that spelt correctly?) appointment and the process that led too it...meantime, Carlton are being criticised for NOT running a process - so now they are changing tack.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

It's typical mismanagement from Carlton. I get what you're saying MJP (and I'm not blaming Lyon, but what I'm saying is also true), and it's just idiotic of a president to sound someone out and not at least let them know they may be put through a process depending on how other stakeholders view things.

They're a pathetically run rabble. Long may it continue.

They have even asked Brian Cook if he could assist them to help run the place? Just goes to show, they can't even get a decent CEO
