    Vale Matt Rendell

    RIP

    Matt Rendell, the decorated former Fitzroy player and renowned AFL recruiter, has died. He was 64.

    Rendell died in hospital in Clayton on Wednesday, having collapsed due to a heart attack on Sunday while walking his dog. He had been on life support since arriving at hospital via ambulance.
    FFC: Established 1883

    Premierships: AFL 1954, 2016 VFA - 1898,99,1900, 1908, 1913, 1919-20, 1923-24, VFL: 2014, 2016 . Champions of Victoria 1924. AFLW - 2018.

    Shane to lose him so young. A good footy man.

    I remember him in the early days as a ruck man and thought he was a good player.

        Very sad news. Still young. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

          Very sad news. A fine player and Captain and astute Recruiting Officer. Very highly regarded by former Coaches in Paul Roos and Grant Thomas.
