Why do they need a new stadium?

That's an obscene amount of money for 24k seats.

Because the stadiums they currently have are run down and not worthy of holding AFL games on a regular basis.

However the estimated cost is excessive as suggested.

They probably need some updated facilities including the elite level training areas.

State and Federal Governments have lost the ability to manage infrastructure projects and all of us not aligned to the construction industry are paying a high price for it.
I really don't know how this will play out but it's a massive cost to cover.

They just need to get the guys that built the world cup stadiums in Qatar. Sure they will need to employ slaves and a few may die but sacrifices need to be made.

Classic case of undercooking things to try and get the idea passed the post, only for the real cost to be born by the public at a later date.

Don't know what qualifications that Panel has. Have they properly costed out the whole build, or just making comments on some of the perceived short falls.

I know Cricket Australia is not happy with the roof as it will cast shadows over the wicket - so that needs to be looked at.

Gil never wanted a Tassie team. He’s given the stadium as a non negotiable in the hope the Tassie government couldn’t make it work, so it wouldn’t come back onto the AFL to forever refuse a Tassie team.

it’s becoming quite laughable that still nothing has been done. It seriously would not surprise me to see it implode.
