Scott is a great coach indeed, but I do wonder if his record is as good as it could be, given the players he has had at his disposal. He has two premierships in his 12 year reign as coach and arguably one of them was a list built by Thompson (not to discredit Scott?s ability to get them over the line against a very good Pies team).

One thing Scott is very good at is the ability to be competitive pretty much all the time. Geelong are consistently thereabouts in aiming for a top 4 spot. That is a massive achievement in itself.

      A masterclass in game 150:

      10 intercept marks (equals record)
      15 intercept possessions
      4 spoils

He is a brilliant player. I love the way he goes about (except against us). Similar in size to Buku - 190 to 192 cm and often plays as a Key Defender. If Buku can model himself on Stewart we will have a good player (there are similarities- ability to read the flight; leg speed; leap at the ball). But yes Stewart is all class.

I’d take two flags in 12 years. You can’t deny how good Chris Scott, what we’d give for his ability to turn up most years.

100% agree with how good a coach he is. No denial from me. The only question mark is should he have had 3 or more premierships with the teams at his disposal.

Geelong is a destination club though , it’s away from Melbourne , beautiful surrounding areas. Most players growing up in the area stay there or find a way to get back.
Its geographical position is very much a drawcard if you want to play in Victoria.
No doubt they have a heads up in getting players.

Norf looking pretty good today. I'd be pretty excited if I was one of their supporters. They'll be a solid club soon enough.

As they should be with all the leg ups they've been given from the afel.

I think they need at least one more extra top 5 pick juuuuuust to make sure.

How good of a footballer is Caleb Serong? Certainly underrated by the Melbourne media.

North are taking it up to Fremantle at the moment.

Yeah, North had a good 20 minute patch but let Freo back in the game. George Wardlaw has improved again on last season. He is hard at it, smart and bloody skilful.

Nine goals in a row to Freo. Where have I seen that before?

Oh for sure. They've been given sooooo much it's actually sickening. It does also take a cultural shift and that will be the hardest thing to over come. Judging by this quarter they still have a lot of work to do to piece it all together.

I think we jumped too early at Norf being good.
