The Department of Home Affairs said it is aware of a cyber incident impacting Ticketmaster customers in response to claims it is part of a data leak expected to impact millions of customers globally.

Industry publication CyberDaily reported that the personal details of 560 million Ticketmaster customers may have been leaked in a data breach claimed by a notorious hacker group ShinyHunters.


It said 1.3 terabytes of customer data possessed by Ticketmaster including names, addresses, credit card numbers, phone numbers and payment details is up for sale

For those who have accounts with ticketmaster, so things to do :

1. change your password

2. remove any payment method you have on the account . if you want to be extra cautious, cancel credit card, and get a new one with a different cc number.

3. remove the address details or just a suburb location.

4. move any tickets you have to your google wallet ( or what apple has) . I don't know if hackers will try to take off your tickets from your account.

funny thing I got a text this morning that I should down load the new app and there was a link. Of course I deleted it.

Good advice. Problem is, there are so many hacks it's not practical to change CC often.

Really everyone must utilise multi factor authentication where possible. Thats the key.

Edit : Doesnt look like ticketmaster offers it. Crazy.

Good advice GG. Item 2 is key. And keep really close eye on card transactions and report & cancel card asap if anything fishy.
