    The Monday Soapbox

Even with a game to be played to complete the round this is your opportunity to vent.

Fake ass competition with rules on the run and umpires fixing results with shit calls.

The impression is that everything falls in and around the fixture. I have a mate who supports the Lions and while he doesn't for 1 minute think their early bye helped them in the early part of the season conceded it's ridiculous that their next bye was before ours

It’s like they all want to ruin the game. I knew WWF (then) was make believe rules and outcomes rigged for the organisation financial dividends. But we knew it and we loved the BS. The AFEL is actually not meant to be that contrived BS, but it turns out it’s every bit as rigged and made up pretending to be a real world class sport but without the characters to keep you wanting to watch. I think it was Happy Days comment when the VDM 50 against Sydney was paid and would’ve been uttered 10 times since…. ‘What’s the point of playing’ (when the umpire is just going to decide the outcome anyway). Seriously, the games getting decided by horrible calls in the final minutes this year is basically just like, ‘save us the hours of listening to dickhead commentators if all that’s going to happen is you’re going to pick the winner on awful decisions’. Not to mention the players adapting to rules on the run is them tapping the ball around. It’s unwatchable except for games of ours, even then, it’s a crapper product.

Players stopping and waiting for the opposition to pick it up so they can tackle and get a holding the ball decision is rampant.
Back in the day if you did that you were dragged never to play again because you whimped it.
There is a total stuff up going for the ball and being protected for it. Now you’re penalised for being first at it.
Been a couple of times two players have stopped waiting for the other one to pick it up.

The rules have made sure of that

And… once upon a time a time was smart and skilled for being a one touch player. Now they’re smart and skilled for being a many touches player by tapping it and not taking possession…

I found leaked video the AFEL umpiring training for adjudicating our tackles and HTB this week. We need to complain to the league at the highest levels. Things don’t look good for us again this week:
