    GWS - Search for a name

    I heard on the radio today that the AFL's expansion into the Western Sydney market is in search of a nickname. Up until now it has only been known as GWS, but now they want a mascot too.

    The 4 options they have listed are:

    Giants
    Stallions
    Pride
    Rangers
    Footscray member since 1980.

          From those 4 names, Giants is too Basketball-ish, Pride sounds very Soccer, Stallions?hmmmm, Rangers sound very Ice Hokey, but that would probably be my pick of that bunch.

          West Sydney Rangers.

                  Pride? Really? That's asking for trouble.

                  Why not just name them the Rams?
                  Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
