This is all a bit weird.

Both Gold Coast and Western Sydney have missed massive opportunities re- colors and names.

- Be original (Green...for goodness sake, no other club is GREEN).
- Use a name that reminds people of the region - Surfers or something for the Gold Coast, and I am convinced GWS should have adopted either a real 'development' theme (actually, given all the solar power stuff going on out there 'SUNS' would have had a good tie to the area) or gone with an indigenous theme given the history of Blacktown.

Thought it could work well out in that area.

Does it pass the tried and true test of a jumper?
As mentioned in another post ( apologies to originator of this test )

Can a grandma knit it? prolly
Can a 6 year old draw it with crayons? hmm, to a degree
Would you want to paint the colours on your face? The orange needs to be brighter for it to really work.
For me....
Does the logo still hit you if you blur your eyes? Not really. G or C? Looks like a traffic symbol.
Does it tap into the history of story of the region? Nope.

Fail. Yawn. They should get football players to design these. I have a BA in Design, and I think these things get overcooked by people with design but not sports club backgrounds who see it as a design and not an item you would want to bleed for, fly as a flag etc etc
I love Ports new strip. It Looks like something you would go to war in. New Freo Jumper is great too. They have to have a bit of tribal warfare in them ( UGH! ) Would you climb on a horse and go jousting in this thing? or paint it on your shield? Nope. Har Har. Ok. Overdoing it now.

I thought it was supposed to be a helmet. A giants helmet. I think that would be a better emblem.

Well they will be the league's laughingstock, it's good to see they've embraced that role from the start. Both potential home jumper's are an abomination...orange, charcoal and white? That's the best you could come up with? They're away jumper will be sky blue? Cripes.
I'm so prepared to hate this team with all of my will. Sheedy'll help there.

Giants is a bit lame but it will probably grow on me quickly. I don't mind "suns" anymore, and really it's not that big a deal. Wolves would hav ebeen better though. The jumpers are crap though, and I'd prefer either of these:

They are both bloody horrible. I agree with GhostDog -- over-designed but under-imagined.

Charcoal and orange? Really? What are we going to call them, the Jaffas?
