I remember the Sunday evening news after our great NAB Cup victory and the supporters were pumped outside the Whitten Oval. We really were very confident in beating Collingwood Round 1 that year but then got a reality check.

That's what I was thinking, the defensive pressure ramps up significantly come round 1 and it can catch teams unsuspecting. We were an example in 2010.

Going into the 2010 finals series we were very weak with the injuries we had. Griffen was the standout in the QF against Collingwood.

Both Mooney and Hall said on 360 that their sides both hit the turps pretty hard after winning the NAB Cup
, Geelong went on a 3 day bender and mentioned Geelong were obviously excited with winning the cup, Baz said it possibly affected their round 1 performance.
