Carlton put up a competitive performance against Hawthorn but Hawthorn get the win and go top. Hawthorn certainly didn't play their best tonight.

Thought Carlton should have won this.
They just started bombing in the second half.
Thought Murphy should have at least had a free for that incident with Hodge.
Brian was Brian, some great marking and a few hairy moments( that soccer off the carpet)
Gotta be honest they brought Mick in because they thought their list was good enough for top 4.
Failure so far, and not a lot better than Ratten!

Not for mine. Win Win for both clubs and watching Nathan Hrovat become a very good footballer.

While he also looks as fit as a fiddle I don't have any bitterness towards him. He is still the best FB I have seen play for us and I don't mind if he has a good season for the Hawks.

Agreed. Late in the game his kicking out of the backline was pretty suspect for mine, turned one over after a good contested mark but managed to snare the turnover kick too and rebound again.

I think we've done OK out of the trade and like you, he's definitely the best FB I've seen in our colours (and at his best, one of the best around).

The game was quite predictable for mine after Murphy got injured. It was always going to be a case of Hawthorn closing the gap and Carlton struggling to close out the game. Puopolo was very good, that one still hurts me that we didn't go for/really want him.

One of the better games I've seen the big Kruse play. He was very good in the ruck and managed to get dangerous in the forward line. Carlton still lack a bit of class through the middle and I think they lack both a key forward and defender who can really impose themselves on a game.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Nope no hatred here(unlike Ward and Brown), gave us fantastic service and hopefully he gets a flag before he retires.

Mick was having a whinge out this. I didn't see the game but I watched this incident this morning, both players were going at the ball, Hodge just protected himself better. I think with players playing for free kicks know days makes the umpires job very hard. Hard one for the ump.

Mick was measuring 10 on the grumpometer.
                        Unusual mick,whinging about umpires.

Richmond coming good now. I hope we can give them a shock next week as last time we played them we were way off mark.

Freo now have their game in the bag against the Lions.

Freo overpowered Brisbane in the end
Death by strangulation, but Brisbane good for three terms.
Does Mundy ever waste a kick? Brilliant to watch

Didn't see the game, but Richmond should be making the eight by now.
They've built their side around their early draft pick guns.

Mundy for Koops just continues to sting. Imagine if Mundy was in Victoria, he would have much more recognition for the champ he is.
