Re: Draft winners Draft losers
Think we played it beautifully. I would expect us to be much more aggressive next year as the draft caliber will be significantly better. Would think we will definitely want to try and generate some additional 1st and second round picks.
(Or trade Patton in...sorry, sorry can't resist..)
I think we can develop our younger guys further this year and create the possibility of trading out possibly Shaun Higgins, providing he has an uninterrupted and fruitful year, for a late first round or early second round pick.
Whilst Shaun is skillful and talented, he is not exceptional but will generate interest amongst other clubs.
I am a huge fan of Shaun's and would dearly love to see him succeed with us, but as they say, you must give up something good to get something good (remember, we aren't the Bombers) and I think with a good season under his belt, Shaun could be the bait.
With an exceptional season under his belt, KEEP HIM.Comment

We would be lucky to get an early 3rd round pick for him. He has done far less than Crameri and has less upside than any of the Brisbane players traded. No defensive skills.Comment

Well why is he still on our list if he has no defensive skills? You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships every day. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. ― EpicurusComment

Re: Draft winners Draft losers
Is it that, or he has restricted movement owing to injuries?
One thing is for sure. For a while there we had a chain gang of guys where were constantly teasing
but not delivering in games. Josh Hill, Stack, Easton Wood, Higgins, Jarrod Grant,Liam Jones and so on.
Now it's at the stage where they have either lifted their game or have been moved on.
Where Shaun Higgins sits is a bit of an unknown, but Brendan has a lot of faith in him, so I guess we are sticking with him for another round. You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships every day. I reckon he's never been 100% since he did his elbow all those seasons back. Always seems to carrying something.Don't piss off old people

The drums are getting louder... When he's 40, I think he'll be begging for the opportunity to talk to his younger self. A career, jobs afterwards and enough cash to set yourself up for life... the opportunity for this doesn't happen to many people in this industry. I'm not sure he is a bad egg. He is possibly closer to being a slow learner and immature bit either way he doesn't have the focus required to be an elite footballer at the moment.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

On the other side of the fence you'd have a young Dale Morris being rejected but continually refusing to go out with his mates to focus 100% on living his dream of playing AFL.Comment

It's all well and good in the current climate to trot out he's just a kid line, but he's been front and centre telling the world he learnt a lesson not getting drafted in 2012.
For mine clubs invest a lot of time effort and money on drafted players and the damage re. Sponsorship and brand can hurt clubs ( particular like ours)Comment
