Which Club do You Associate Ron Barassi with??

The reason I ask as it seems an age related question...?

I think of Barassi as Sydney.

      Def Melbourne
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

        North Melbourne's first premiership.

I was born in 1990 and would definitely say Melbourne.

I'm a 1988 child and Melbourne it is.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

                Melbourne for sure.

He lived in Footscray for a while as a kid.

Sydney for mine. Mostly because he was all over it as I was growing up with the game.

Ron Barassi is one of my secret, unpopular footy opinions. I just don't have much time for his opinions on footy, or life, however often he gets the opportunity to share them The guy irritates me. Not as much as Sheedy, but they're almost in the same basket.

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

                      Clearly Melbourne.

Captain of their last premiership and led them through a hugely successful period, which fell over completely when he departed to coach Carlton.

His time at North got them 2 flags, but he always seemed a mercenary there.

Sydney was just a splat on his windscreen of life. Helped kick start them for Rocket to get them to a GF.

Melbourne primarily but he is one of those true identities who is associated with football first, an individual club second.

                          Carlton for me.

Initally I found this surprising, but he was there during my teenage years when I first started going to the footy. Surfing, university and parenthood were distractions for me during his time at Norf and Sydney.

The working of Barassi can be best illustrated in the book
"The Coach" from Norf in 1977.
