Just heard. Very sad, Tom had done a presentation at my school to the senior students in recent years. RIP Tom.

What a wonderful bloke and coach.
Remember talking footy back in about 2000 on a tram on the way home from a game.
Didn't get the cold shoulder, and he loved talking footy.

Will never forget while I was surf fishing in the late 80s watching him run up and down and up and down the beach at Anglesea while doing countless amount of push ups at each end. Whenever I think of him I think of that morning.

          RIP Tom.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Took us for training one night about twenty five years ago as a guest of our coach. We all thought it would be a bit of fun. Then the four hundreds started and never seemed to end. Was a hard man Tom.

It's a time to celebrate the life of a great man, let alone great sportsman. I will forever remember a man who was ruthlessly fit, and an inspiration for every wannabe fit person like I want to be that there's no excuse or substitute for hard work. I was only thinking today how Teddy went long before Tommy or Barassi, and even Tommy has gone too soon. I hope his legend inspires for a long time to come.

Condolences to his family. A true legend who understood what football was all about.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Inspiring when you read about all the community work, even into his senior years. A real character. Condolences.

Heard tonight the routine was up at 5.20
8km run hundreds of push ups and sit ups, and then off for a swim in the Bay.
                      Every single day. Incredible

He's a lot like Shane Crawford, in that neither are/were happy unless they were exercising.

Just goes to show how much a killer cancer is to take such a fit man.

Sad to hear his death as he is someone many people respected and expected to live forever.
