    Pelchen gone

News on the Age is that Chris Pelchen has resigned at St Kilda after a football department review.
I think he offered his resignation 12 months back when Watters ended up being sacked.

The Saints might already have someone to replace him.

One of the biggest threats to pelicans is fishing line. I'm off to Tackle World Laverton, then might be seen rigging 30lb braid across the doors of the Whitten Oval. Who's with me?

There was some speculation Carlton were trying to poach him.

I think we're good for now. McCartney and Dalrymple have for the most part done an excellent job.

Why would you want a guy thrown out of the last placed team anyway?

Heard on SEN last night that Carlton rang St.Kilda and denied that. Apparently Silvangi is leaving GWS and is on the way back to Carlton.

Apparently Ricky Nixon isn't Pelchen's biggest fan, from his Facebook:

Is that from Nixon's comedy act?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think they would rather hear from Richard Nixon, and that'd be scary because he's been dead for years.

Interesting. I wonder why they've done it, considering they have appeared to throw all their chips behind his philosophy of rebuilding through the draft and obtaining as many early picks as possible?
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I heard the interview this afternoon, I think they needed to bring in more a professional approach across a number of specialist areas.

It all appears to be amicable but I think once the trade period was completed and the fact that Ameet Bain will oversee it Pelchen needed to move on. Carlton have already confirmed he won't be coming to them.
