Yet again the Western Bulldogs play the West Coast Eagles in round 1. Any truth to the rumour that this is at Gillon's request to have a local derby between the 2 "Western" teams early each season.

I agree that it's a good result. Home game, decent timeslot and a winnable match. Not sure why the AFL keep giving us round 1 games against West Coast though? This will be the third in four years. The bad news is we have never beaten West Coast in a round 1 match, including the infamous Jade Rawlings shootout of 2004.

Hopefully we can change that.

Agree, I think it's a good result for us. GWS would have been the preference but it's a nice opportunity for some exposure

Not sure how much exposure we will get. I assume we will be on pay tv, playing against an interstate club.

With Collingwood playing at the same time against Brisbane and the whole Dayne Beams saga, all the attention will be on that game.
