Looks to be purely on ratings - rather than someone's opinion - unless I'm interpreting it incorrectly.

This might explain Bell getting into the team, and Gunston rather than Kennedy as FF.

That's how I understand it as well.

I'm not exactly sure how the ratings system works and I'm sure it's far from perfect, but at least it's an unbiased side rated purely on performance as opposed to the All Australian side that's often picked according to the selectors favourites, pre-conceived opinions, past years form, etc.
