A bit hit and miss. He seemed to have an easy enough time against his ruck opponents but either they were roving to his taps or TC was putting it in the wrong place.
Around the ground was limited effect and he was subbed for more run in the 4th. Over all he didn't set the world on fire but he wasn't alone.

I thought he was really good and would have had him in the votes if he wasn't subbed off. Tom Boyd had done nothing all day so I think we just figured he'd have more energy than Campbell in the last

He was dominating the hitouts, in fact he had the most of any player for the game despite being subbed out, and he took some key marks around the ground

Only knock on him was he didn't put much thought into where his taps went, which meant winning the hitouts was of little value to us. A lot to work with though
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Afl's greed is now biting them on the bum with ticket pricing. Families can't afford to go and pay that sort of money week in week out and opposition supporters are priced out as well. I don't bother going to geelong.

I'd like to slam the geelong football club for its exorbitant costings. To pay $61 to sit in the facilities that they have been gifted by governments is a blatant rip off. This was the cheapest available seat by the way - standing room was 29 (not an option for many of us). And you can't use you 17 game membership to offset the cost it's classed as an 'interstate' match ( maybe that explains bronwyn bishop's helicopter ride). Despite the exorbitant price tag, the large scoreboard was difficult to see from our seats and making sense of play down the other end pretty much impossible.

I was looking forward to good ole suburban footy but never again!

It's always been an expensive ground to go and watch footy at. The food prices were always a lot more than at Melbourne based games. I can remember getting a pie, chips and a can of fizzo many years ago and being asked for more than $10 where at Melbourne based games that order was about $7 to $7.50. I also remember saying to the lady that served me would she mind calling the police because I had just been robbed

For all it gets talked up, going to the footy at Geelong isn't that great and the viewing is nowhere near as good as most other grounds.

3 game memberships have hit them hard. A number of their members opted for the 3 game option this year.

I thought he showed a bit but tapping it straight to Blicavs who didn't even contest is pretty poor

Yeah it is, but it's easier to fix than not being able to get your hands on it at all

TC was very good for three quarters and a huge surprise to see him subbed out in what was probably our best ruck performance this year. We could have done a lot worse than having Campbell playing as a marking option up forward in the final term after dominating play in the third term but couldn't take a mark to save ourselves in attack.

I was very surprised that I never saw Campbell push forward. He took a few strong marks in defence, but I don't recall even seeing him inside our forward 50 all day!

As for his ruck work, I think its being overstated. He had the most hitouts because Geelong didn't play a ruckman, and the one guy tall enough to compete (Blicavs) would often just sit down and rove the tap. It's not hard to get hitouts when you're not competing with anyone!

Having said that, I still thought he offered more than our other rucks and would love to see him get a three/four week run at it. Minson was not doing enough to come straight back in.

I think we need to give Tommy another run at it. But would Will have palmed it down to the opposition all the time. I think if Will had been in he would have had a field day especially if he was unopposed.

Staggered why no-one ever seems to just thump the ball forward. I get that the opposition would set up for this if we did this all the time but surely it would make sense on the odd occasion to simply smash the ball forward 30 metres to clear the area.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Minson does that at times, I actually wonder why it's not done more often as a game plan.
Especially when you know the opposition have no ruck.

Our kicking into the forward line was rarely to our advantage so they can't wear all the blame.. And even if he did mark it he probably would have just handballed to a team mate under pressure like he seemed to do every time he touched it.. Extremely frustrating.

He wasn't alone there. That first half was diabolical.

Even in the last quarter, Stringer had Redpath leading into space but kicked it long to a Geelong defender. Told the story of the match.
