JB: Can you win the premiership?
MW: Yes we can. We'll get a home final and take it from there.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023 -

He didn't say it with much confidence though... Looking back through time I can only think of Collingwood in 1990 who suffered such a heavy defeat so late in the season and then went on to win the premiership.
Overall Mitch spoke well, his comments regarding our 'reactionary' midfield on the weekend were spot on.. We were all standing waiting for NN to hit the ball rather than bring on the move.Comment

We beat Hawks convincingly one year not long before they won the flag.He didn't say it with much confidence though... Looking back through time I can only think of Collingwood in 1990 who suffered such a heavy defeat so late in the season and then went on to win the premiership.

1997. We lost to Sydney by nearly 100 points, round 17, then thrashed them in the first week of the finals.www.bulldogtragician.com A blog about being a lifelong fan of the Dogs and our quixotic attempt to replicate 1954. AND WE DID

Just about every team has suffered a disappointing loss at some stage this year, haven't they? Maybe not to the extent we did on the weekend but I think it's going to be something that happens from time to time in the modern game.Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?Comment

Although the Hawks have lost more games than they would like they have been in every game. Certainly no big losses or no blow out losses like we had on the weekend and had against the Hawks in Tassy.Comment

Yep, their greatest losing margin this season was in Friday's game vs Port, 22 points.Comment

If you win your first final anything and everything is possible.
FYI I remember West Coast getting smashed by something like 12 goals at home very late in the 2006 season. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment
