Perhaps we thought it would be a cruise from then on and didn't keep the foot down.
I think some of the signs we were the better side not applying ourselves to the extent we should have been were there early in the game. They had a lot of the footy, but just couldn't use it.

In some ways it reminded me of the second half of the game the first time we saw the Saints this year. Once Brisbane got a sniff it became increasingly difficult to stop their momentum and mental application isn't something that can be switched on easily.

I don't think it's embarrassing, but I nice reminder to our players that you need to bring effort against everyone .
I thought the Melbourne game was embarrassing to be honest

ZCordy is clearly not up to senior football at this stage. The efforts of Bontempelli Wallis Picken and Wood kept us in the game but it wasn't enough as the Lions had far more better players and thoroughly deserved its win.
That's a fair enough analysis I think. Some clean use by foot from Rich made them look a lot more efficient in some instances.

Now THERE'S the Bulldogs I know and love...

At least we've got plenty of like-minded company this round.

Fantastic observation Gary. I wonder if Dee's and Carlton who clearly tanked in years gone by should've instead tried to do what the Lions did today whether they would be better clubs today for it. This is a statement by the Lions that despite their poor year they want to set the right example for their team and create a culture based on always trying to win. This could be a very big moment for a club that has been having a hard time keeping their list together. Just wish they hadn't picked today to decide to stand their ground.

Bevo said in his press conference it was a bad corky and will see how it comes up. Fingers crossed.

Mate, what were your thoughts watching things up close? Would really like to hear how you thought we structured up and how why we were so exposed.

No idea and I never said I'm happy but some people are going way over the top. It has ZERO meaning for who and where we play next week and it is highly likely that when we knew the Geelong result we went into a state of self preservation. I don't think it mattered whether we won or not the focus was on player management by the end of the game. lIittle doubt we were driving in 2nd gear. As for the supporters what do people think of North resting 9 players last night?

My post was directed at the suggestion we are more likely to lose against Adelaide because we lost by 8 points today which is just silly. As for gun side, really? We're not a gun side we're a bunch of 20 year olds who have gone above and beyond the call of duty this year with 14 wins. Relax and be happy it all starts next week.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Don't take much from that, bruise free footy at its finest. One team leaving it all out there, one with bigger fish to fry

I am concerned that Roughead is starting to remind me of Andrejs Everitt

I haven't seen the game yet but will tonight so the only comments I can currently make is around the loss itself.
To be very honest I really don't like hearing and reading comments like it was a nothing game and that we were inexperienced side etc to explain why we were beaten by a bottom of the ladder side especially after a dominate scoreboard in the first quarter.

We have come too far this year simply accept results like this and unless we seriously took the foot off the pedal once the Crows result was known we should be demanding more from the club and players. Going on the scoreline we had our chances in the last quarter.

Whatever way we want to look at this we gave up the chance to control our own destiny and could have easily been off to Adelaide next week.

Judging by how Bevo has treated other loses this year I'm sure he is not going to dwell any more on this game

Lets see if the media lets us off the hook. I didn't expect Bevo to be too fussed but I think our supporters should be leaning towards the disappointed side.
