We can adapt when we need to.When Port got their biggest lead we asically shut down all he free flow for either side and ground out 3 goals in an almost boring fashion, culminating in Libba's great goal. If the free flowing fast game is working against us it's good to know we can switch things up

1. It is not always the quarter where you outscore your opponent the most that wins you the game.
2. The best wins are where you have also beaten the consensus opinion (see the odds before the game).
3. We can win without Dahlhaus. (But it is a massive loss for us.)

and that last goal to Port was no way a goal and the umpire ran and signaled a goal in record time as if he knew that there was only 17 seconds left.

I thought it was a point as it seemed to go directly over the top of the goal post.

ratsmac and Go_Dogs, I thought it was pretty suss as well.

I didn't think the goal umpire actually watched it go all the way through when I first saw the footage from his head cam, but at the time I thought I was just being a paranoid Bulldogs supporter awaiting the next AFL conspiracy to culminate in another heartbreaking Bulldogs loss!

I'll watch again with interest.

I was behind the goals, our players on the oval weren't happy, BUT looking on TV it looks ok. Doesn't matter, we won.

I have watched the replay and still think there is some doubt in it, third umpire must of had no doubt though as they did't hold up play at all after the review.

I've looked at it a couple of times (it is in the "final 2 minutes" vid on the Club's website and you are being generous in allowing that it went directly over the goal post. Terrible decision and yes the umps seemed awfully keen to maximise the time remaining. We were fortunate we gave them no opportunity for a 50/50 decision in Port's favour - although every Port player who got near the ball was throwing his arms out inviting the ump to give him a free. And that no ball up decision at our CHF, the ump let it go on because every time he was thinking he would have to concede the ball up for a second it looked like Port would get a break away. The (standing) agenda: "we have to grow the game interstate for the sake of a national competition."

F-Man I was screaming at the umpire to ball that up. Unbelievable how interpretation can change in the last minutes of the game, it was like it was 2012-2013 all over again, and the rolling maul was left to be.

With the clock still ticking down it worked out ok for us.

It did in the end, but at the time I felt Port was looking likely to find a release and were given every chance to do so.

It did in the end, but at the time I felt Port was looking likely to find a release and were given every chance to do so.

Absolutely, with the alternative outcome being a holding the ball decision against us - but we kept tipping it out again quicker than the ump could blow his whistle to ping us, so we stuffed the ump up on that one with benefit that the clock in fact ran down a bit more.

1. The belief and character of this group is the strongest I've seen.
2. Don't ever trust a Foxtel go app if you're ever away from home. It crashed 10 minutes into the last quarter. What a time for me to have no coverage.
3. That win, in my view, was even better than the Sydney one last year. The impact of a fanatical crowd is much greater over in Bogan-land; our opponents had their season on the line; we dealt with every kind of adversity, a key player withdrawing pre match, a star midfielder injury, bewildering umpiring and losses of momentum. This is the kind of win that sets us up for finals pressure. Only a few weeks ago when we lost to Hawthorn there was much anguish about us always losing the close ones. Now we know what it's like, through our wins v Crows, WCE and Port. What a future we have and if the dreaded injury gods would just go and pick on someone else 2016 could finally be our year.
